Day 2 – Startup and Entrepreneurship Symposium 2025

Igniting Innovation in Lalitpur

Day 2 was dedicated to understanding how startups and entrepreneurship is nurtured in the Republic of Korea and what can Lalitpur Metropolitan City learn and plan for itself.

In the welcome address by Ms. Manjali Shakya Bajracharya, Deputy Mayor, LMC and speech by Dr. Dae Yul Jeong, Dean of the Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Gyeongsang National University, both reiterated their commitment to collaboration with industry-academia, student exchange program, and explore setting up an innovation center.

In the first session Dr. Sang Hyeok Park, Professor at the Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, GNU gave a passionate and inspiring session on ‘How the Republic of Korea encourages Innovation, Startups, and Entrepreneurship’. He urged the participants and LMC to replicate the path the RoK took by starting small yet aiming big.

The second session was a workshop facilitated by yours truly to distill the information, knowledge, and insights shared during the two days and recommend an action plan for LMC. The participants enthusiastically participated, whose suggestions have been promised to be worked upon by LMC as indicated by the Deputy Mayor during her closing remarks.

The program was organized by – Lalitpur Metropolitan City; In collaboration with Gyeongsang National University, Republic of Korea; and supported by International Leadership Training Center, Tangent Waves, Nepal Entrepreneurs’ Hub, and Youth Thinkers Society.
