Igniting Innovation in Lalitpur
Over 200 people attended the invite only Day 1 program that saw the opening ceremony graced by Hon Minister Prem Bhakta Maharjan, Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Transport, Bagmati Province, His Excellency Park Tae-Young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal, Kong Mooheon, Country Director of KOICA’s Nepal office, and Dr. Dae Yul Jeong, Dean of the Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Gyeongsang National University, Republic of Korea. Ms. Manjali Shakya Bajracharya, Deputy Mayor, Lalitpur Metropolitan City astutely led the efforts as the organizer. The highlight was a long-term MoU exchange between LMC and GNU with ITCL and Tangent Waves being appointed facilitators.
Keynote address on ‘Korean Entrepreneurship and Start-up Ecosystem in GNU & Jinju by Dr. Joeng; Panel discussion on ‘Global Partnerships for Local Success: A Korean-Nepalese Dialogue to Foster Entrepreneurship’ with panelists Ms. Shakya, Dr. Jeong, and Mr. Pranaya Ratna Sthapit, Director, Mobile Experience Division, Samsung Electronics Nepal Office and moderated by yours truly; training on ‘Unleashing Creativity and Innovation’ by Dr. Sang Hyeok Park, Professor at the Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, GNU with support from Dr. Myung Gwan Lee, Lecturer at the Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, GNU peppered the day with insightful nuggets of wisdom for the participating young and young-at-heart entrepreneurs.
The program was organized by – Lalitpur Metropolitan City; in collaboration with Gyeongsang National University, Republic of Korea; and supported by International Leadership Training Center, Tangent Waves, Nepal Entrepreneurs’ Hub, and Youth Thinkers Society.
