Suman Sir’s 20-year Toastmasters Anniversary

Yesterday, June 29, 2024, marked my 20-year Toastmasters anniversary. Today is my last day serving as District 41’s district director.

Thus far, the journey has been amazing. I am grateful to Toastmasters International for offering such a life-changing program, which has allowed me to experience significant personal growth. My appreciation goes out to all of the Everest Toastmasters Club members, both past and present, for having a similar desire to learn, as well as to the officers and members of District 41 (in North India and Nepal), with whom I developed as a leader.

In my own way, I expressed my gratitude to all the current District Officers in Nepal and well-wishers in the organizations who continue to run a Toastmasters Club on 27 June. Thank you all for attending. In a similar vein, I asked to speak briefly about my experience at Everest Toastmasters Club today, coming full circle to the place where it all started.

It is a long time—20 years. There must be a shift in leadership. It’s time for me to step back and give the fantastic set of new leaders in Nepal the reins. I retain the HOPE that more confident speakers, more assertive communicators, and more transformative leaders will carry the torch forward in the right direction.

A fresh journey begins tomorrow.
